MONDRAGON ASSEMBLY SUCESSFULLY CONCLUDES ITS R&D ON TWO PROJECTS

Mondragon Assembly invests its resources in the research and development of new projects. It began work on two different projects in 2012, and they have recently been successfully concluded.

The organization collaborates with different companies and government agencies in order to develop new projects and apply new technologies to the enhancement of both know-how and the production process.

REGENERAR:

Mondragon Assembly has just completed the EU funded REGENERAR project, whose main goal was the development of clinically applicable treatment for rheumatoid arthritis by stem cell therapy. Mondragon Assembly has developed two new products, enabling an automatic stem cell culture at clean room level. The robotized handling of cell factories, feeding of cells, trypsin addition, centrifugal rotation and incubator processes have been designed and validated with the TIGenix Group. Along this same lines, a growing control technique based on automatic cell counting by artificial vision has been developed.

COMBILASER:

Mondragon Assembly is one the partners involved in the launch of the new “COMBILASER” research project, funded within the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme, where self-learning laser processes will be implemented in three highly demanding scenarios: automotive laser welding, household appliances and aeronautics laser cladding. Mondragon Assembly will use smart machines to integrate laser ultrasonics and the on-line monitoring of laser processes, together with self-learning systems, in order to improve the current state-of-the-art in those fields.
